EXHIBITION: SUMMER OPEN EXHIBITION AT THE MINORIES

I’m really pleased to be exhibiting a piece in the Summer Open Exhibition at The Minories gallery in Colchester.

Featuring artworks by over 200 artists from across the UK and in a variety of media, the exhibition is taking over the entire Minories building until Sunday 11 August 2024. Make sure you visit if you can – there’s so much to see and such a wide variety of work, beautifully curated by the team.

The piece I am showing is called ‘Suspended’ and it’s in the Studio 2 on the first floor. It’s part of my ongoing TRIVIAL MATTER work, documenting things that distract, amuse or confuse me as I’m going about my day. The piece is an open edition print, available to purchase along with many other of the pieces on display. You can find out more about the exhibition on The Minories website, where you can also download the exhibition handout sheet.

Below are some photographs I took when I visited a second time to take it all in.

Photograph of two framed 2D works hung on a white wall with mirror plates and screws. The piece to the left is out of focus but appears to be a face in oil paint. To the right is a photograph of dead blossom suspended on cobwebs. The number 211 is visible in the bottom right corner of the frame.

The Summer Open Exhibition is open until Sunday 11 August 2024 at The Minories
