Shutter Hub’s Postcards from Europe exhibition opened on 12 January at Art at the ARB at University of Cambridge, and it was wonderful to be able to visit this week to take installation photographs. Alongside Postcards from Europe, a selection of images from Postcards from Great Britain is also on display, marking the 20th and final exhibition in the series of pop-up exhibitions for this project.
Displayed across 4 floors in this bright, open space (which you may recognise from Everything I Ever Learnt, back in 2019), it’s fantastic to see the scale of these two significant projects, which I’m really pleased to have a few images in myself.
Postcards from Great Britain is a large-scale project from Shutter Hub, which invited photographers to share their visions of British culture through photographic images taken over a four year period between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2020. Exhibitions were held in 20 locations across Europe, showcasing thousands of postcard-sized images and culminating in this final showcase with Art at the ARB at the University of Cambridge. Postcards from Europe is a call and response to that project, conversation and cultural exchange at time of huge change and extreme challenges.
I’ve included a few images below, but to see more and find out more about the current exhibition visit the Shutter Hub website.
