If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me share how excited I was in March when I got to go on a train for the first time in a very long time. I'm very pleased that I can now share what I was travelling for (and why I was extra excited) - a really lovely commission for The Goldsmiths' Company's new long form stories platform, Goldsmith's Stories, to illustrate a fantastic feature on the brilliant artist Jariet Oloyé written by Mazzi Odu: Handmaking inheritance: Jariet Oloyé and the living inspiration of traditional craft skills.
It was such a lovely morning and it felt very special to document Jariet at work in her studio. I came away buzzing from her creative energy and hearing about her journey as an artist, which you can read about in Mazzi Odu's piece.
Here are a few of my favourite images from the day, but I strongly encourage you to read the feature to find out more about Jariet Oloyé's work and story. She is hugely inspiring, her work is stunning and it was such a privilege to spend time and work with her on this.
